HuntingRulebook works without an account. Your spots, permit wallet and harvest log live in your own browser, and nothing leaves the device unless you sign in.

Signing in with Google is what starts sending data to us. It is optional, and you can sign out and keep using the app.

• Your email address, taken from your Google account.
• Your Google account id — an anonymous number Google uses to tell accounts apart.
• Your saved spots, permit wallet and harvest log, so a second device can pick them up.

That is the whole row. We do not receive your Google password, your contacts, or anything else in your Google account.

It is stored in Azure Table Storage, run by Microsoft on our behalf.

By signing in with Google you agree that we may email you at that address — about your account, about changes to the app, and occasionally about the app itself ahead of a new season. There is no separate sign-up step; the address we email is the one your Google account gave us.

Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them for good without affecting your account or your synced data. You can also just reply and ask us to stop. If you would rather we never had the address at all, sign out and ask us to delete your row.

We may share your email address with selected partners — outfitters, gear retailers and other hunting businesses — who may then contact you about their own products. We share the address only, never your saved spots, your permit wallet or your harvest log.

You can opt out of that at any time, and it is a separate switch from our own emails: email [email protected] and ask us to stop sharing, and we will stop and tell you it is done. Unsubscribing from our emails does not by itself stop the sharing, so say which one you want if you want both.

These companies also handle your data because the app runs on them:

• Google — signs you in and tells us your email address.
• Microsoft Azure — hosts the app and stores your row.
• Komoot Photon and OpenStreetMap Nominatim — turn an address you type in the search box into coordinates. They see the search text, not your account.

We may also hand over data if the law actually requires it, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden from doing so.

Everything you have saved is already on your own device — that copy is the one the app reads from, and signing out leaves it untouched. The calendar exports to .ics at any time.

Email [email protected] to have your stored row deleted, including your email address, and we will do it.

Season data is transcribed from the 2026 New Jersey Hunting & Trapping Digest and the Pennsylvania Game Commission's published seasons. Boundaries come from NJDEP and PGC GIS services.

This app is a planning aid, not the law. We work hard to get it right and we check it against the digests, but transcription errors happen and regulations change mid-season. Verify against the official digest before you hunt. You are responsible for hunting legally.

If you find something that does not match the digest, tell us at [email protected] — the page number it came from is the most useful thing you can send. Every screen in the app has a “Report an inaccuracy” link in its footer that fills most of that in for you.

If we start doing something materially different with your data, we will change this page and say so in the app rather than quietly editing it here.
