New Hampshire counts deer by the tag rather than by a season limit. An archery licence carries one deer of either sex; a regular hunting or combination licence carries one deer for the firearms season; a muzzleloader licence lets that firearms tag be used in the muzzleloader season instead and carries no tag of its own. A Special Archery Deer Permit — one per hunter, bought only alongside the archery licence — adds one antlered deer taken by bow. Special Unit L and Unit M permits add antlerless deer in those units, one tag for L and two for M, usable on any day of any season the hunter is licensed for, including antlered-only days. So the most antlered deer a licensed hunter can take is two: one on a firearms or archery tag, one on the Special Archery Deer Permit. Digest, printed p. 18.
You
What you pay, and in several states what you are even offered.
Residency
New Hampshire Fish and Game Department prices residents and non-residents differently, and sells some tags to only one of them.
Licences
Without one of these there is no legal way to hunt deer here.
Tags and permits
Good anywhere in the state.
Tags for a unit
Drop a pin first — these are sold per wildlife management unit, and the app will not guess which one you meant.

Tick what you hold and the calendar starts answering for you rather than for everybody. New Hampshire Fish and Game Department sells them at the link below.
Prices are what the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department printed for 2026-27, and are here to help you recognise a tag rather than to sell you one.
New Hampshire deer seasons, 2026-27
New Hampshire’s 2026-27 deer seasons run September 15, 2026 to December 15, 2026, and what is open on a given day depends on the wildlife management unit your stand is in. Drop a pin above and this app reads the wildlife management unit off it, then answers the rest from there — the dates, the legal arms, the bag limits and the shooting hours, transcribed page by page from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department digest. It is a planning aid, not the law: check the digest before you hunt.
