A general-season buck deer permit is valid for one buck deer on the unit it names. Utah's permits are drawn — the big game application closed on 23 April 2026 — and any general-season buck deer permit still available after the draw may be bought over the counter, at the cost of every general-season buck deer preference point you have accrued. A hunter may hold only one general-season buck deer permit. Guidebook, printed pp. 4 and 17.
