One deer tag a year, unless a second is drawn. In western Oregon the general any-legal-weapon and general archery tags are bought over the counter and take one buck with a visible antler; in eastern Oregon every deer tag is a controlled 100 series tag drawn for a single hunt area, and the tag names the hunt. White-tailed deer are illegal to harvest in every western Oregon unit except controlled hunts in Melrose (#23) that list them in the bag limit.
